OUR MISSION: To serve the Parish of St. Joseph's as its primary resource and catalyst for the work of Social Justice.
‘RIGHT RELATIONSHIPS’ is our guiding principle. We come together each month to learn, discuss and take action on issues of Social Justice here at home and in the global South. New members are always welcome, please contact us if you'd like to learn more!
OPERATING PRINCIPLES
- We will operate as a committee of the Parish Council for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
- We will base our activities on the biblical and theological foundations of Catholic Social Teaching.
- We will emphasize the “Option for the Poor” by pursuing issues which address the dignity and rights of people who are socially, politically or economically disadvantaged.
- We will maximize opportunities to work with the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace as well as coalitions and neighbourhood groups to promote our common interests in creating a just world.
- We will give priority to strategies that enable people to realize and act on their own power.
- We will promote both private and personal commitments to Justice as well as communal and institutional commitments to Social Justice.
